Wizards hang in with 88-87 win over Cavs
Le Bron James and his Cleveland Cavs were looking to wrap up a spot in the second round of the NBA finals. They were playing at home so they had the crowd on their side.
This was not enough as the Wizards cast a spell on Cleveland and stole the match with just seconds left on the clock. Caron Butler was the man for the Wizards as he scored 32 points and got the job done at the end with a game winning layup.
James, who scored 34 points on the night could not seal the series when he had the ball in his hands for the dying seconds. A missed layup meant the series is heading back to Washington DC for game 6.
In this game the Wizards started strong and lead their opponents 23-16 at the end of the first quarter. By halftime the Cavs had fought back to close to within 2 points. From there until the end the match was tight and it came down to those last few seconds.
In the other match played Wednesday night in the NBA finals the Boston Celtics were way too good from the Atlanta Hawks and ran out winners 110-85. Boston lead the series 3-2.
