Who Can Stop Novak Djokovic?
Novak Djokovic remained unbeaten for the 2011 ATP tour. His latest win claimed title no. 6 for the year and ended Rafael Nadal’s clay-court win streak which stood at 37 and went back to May 2009.
If ever anyone was going to beat Djokovic it was Nadal on clay but such is the form of Djokovic even the King of Clay could not bring him undone. The world no. 2 defeated the no. 1, 7-5, 6-4.
Djokovic has now won 32 straight matches as part of the 2011 season, this is the second best start to a season behind McEnroe’s 42 wins in 1984. His overall win streak stands at 34 if you add on a few matches at the end of 2010.
