Twin Girls for Roger Federer

Roger Federer has announced that he is the proud father of twin girls. His wife Mirka gave birth on Thursday night.

“I have some exciting news to share with you,” Federer announced on his official website, RogerFederer.com. “Late last night, in Switzerland, Mirka and I became proud parents of twin girls. We named them Myla Rose and Charlene Riva and they are both healthy and along with their mother they are doing great. This is the best day of our lives.”

It is turning out to be a great year for Federer both on and off the court. He married longtime girlfriend Mirka on April 11 this year. He then went onto win for the first time at the French Open. He topped this off by becoming the all-time grand slam singles title leader when he won at Wimbledon to take his tally to 15. Now he has twin baby girls. I almost forgot he reclaimed the no. 1 ranking in tennis.

Federer and Mirka met each other during the Sydney Olympics in 2000 when they both represented Switzerland.

Congratulations Roger and Mirka.
