It comes as no surprise that Rafael Nadal has once again reached a clay court final. This time it is in Barcelona.

Nadal the top seed at the tournament reached the final with a convincing 6-1, 6-0 win over unseeded German Denis Gremelmayr. The match was over in just 51 minutes.

Nadal will be playing for his fourth successive  Barcelona title when he faces fellow Spaniard David Ferrer. He reached the final with a 7-6(8), 6-3 win over Wawrinka of Switzerland. Ferrer is the number two seed for the Barcelona tournament and is ranked no. 5 in the world.

In the head to head matchup Nadal leads 5-3. Ferrer has only defeated Nadal once on clay from 5 attempts. That came when they first met in Stuttgart in 2004.

Nadal would be the favorite going into the final.
