He defeated first time finalist Dudi Sela from Israel. The final score was 6-4, 6-7(6), 6-3.

After the match Roddick announced he would donate $25,000 of his prize money to the Chinese Tennis Association (CTA) to help with assistance to the people who were victims of the terrible Sichuan earthquake.

The title in Beijing is title no. three for the 2008 ATP season.
