Massa loves Turkey Formula 1

Felipe Massa just loves Turkey. Not the one that you eat but the country. He has just wrapped up his third consecutive victory at the Turkish Grand Prix.

After starting from pole position the Ferrari driver has lead the field for most of the race to move himself into contention in the drivers championship in Formula 1.

The race had only just got underway when the first accident took place. Fisichella should have stayed at home. He crashed out on the first turn. That now makes it three years running that he has not even completed a lap. The accident saw the safety car come out.

Massa was overtaken by Hamilton at one stage however a three stop strategy compared to the two from most other drivers including Massa allowed him back into the lead as Hamilton went to the pits.

At the end of the race it was Massa who took the chequered flag ahead of Hamilton, championship leader Raikkonen was third.

Raikkonen still leads the championship however Massa and Hamilton have closed the gap to seven. They both share second spot.

In the constructors’ championship Ferrari have extended their lead to 19 points over second placed BMW Sauber, with McLaren a further two points behind in third position.
