Lakers send Utah on summer break
As expected the Los Angeles Lakers have moved into the second round of the NBA playoffs. This comes after they completed a 4-1 series win over the Utah Jazz. The Lakers won game 5 107-96.
The teams were level on 26 after one quarter at the Lakers home stadium. It was a 30-17 second quarter that setup the win. The Lakers pushed their lead out further with a 26-20 third quarter. They then cruised to the win allowing Utah to outscore them in the four quarter by 33-25. It was 82-63 at the start of the final quarter but the Lakers let this lead drop to six at one stage.
Once again Kobe Bryant led the way scoring 31 points and Lamar Odom added 26 points and 15 rebounds.
The Lakers will meet the winners of the Houston-Portland series which currently sees the Rockets ahead 3-1. The teams meet in Portland on Tuesday night.
