Houston grab key win in game 4

BasketballThe Houston Rockets had to come back from a six-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to win game four of their series against Portland. It was 70-64 to the visiting Trail Blazers going into the final quarter.

Brandon Roy was fantastic for much of the game but he had an offensive foul called on him as he went to the basket late in the match. He scored 31 for the night. This was not enough as his team fell short by one with the final score 89-88.

Second effort points was the key for Houston. They grabbed 16 offensive rebounds to 9 and from two of those Shane Battier sank some big three-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Houston made it closer than it could have been as they missed several free throws in the closing seconds. Yao scored 21 points for the Rockets, Scola 17.

The series returns to Portland on Tuesday.

This match was decided by just a single point. This followed the double overtime win by Chicago over the Celtics. To make it a great day for close finishes Orlando snatched a  84-81 win over the 76ers a Turkoglu sank a three-pointer to win the game with seconds on the clock. The series in now 2-2 with the next match in Orlando on Tuesday.

In case you missed the earlier post about Cleveland, they wrapped up their series with a 99-78 win over Detroit. The first quarter was close but then the Cavs powered away to sweep the Pistons.
