April 7, 2008

Brazil’s Felipe Massa has finally got his formula one campaign on track with a win at the Bahrain Grand Prix. After having not earnt a point from the previous races this season the pressure was on for him to perform.

Massa’s teammat Kimi Raikkonen has gone to the lead in the championship afer coming in second. With 19 points he is now three clear of BMW Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld. Taking the final spot on the winners podium was Robet Kubica in the BMW.  Kubica started the race on pole.

Louis Hamilton failed to collect some points in the race after coming home in 13th place. It was a race he would like to forget as he got off to a slow start and then made things worse by running into the back of Fernando Alonso’s Renault.

BMW Sauber lead the constructors championship on 30 points, just one ahead of Ferrari and two ahead of McLaren.

Australia’s Mark Webber did well to climb from his 11th on the grid to grab p7.
