Australian Open Tennis 2010 Single Session Tickets
Single Session Australian Open Tennis tickets for the 2010 tournament are now on sale.
To give you and idea of price it is $59.90 for an adult ticket to Rod Laver Arena plus $4.95 for the ezyTicket fee. The ezyTicket is sent to you as an attachment which you then print. The concession price for pensioners and students is $54.90 and a child 3-16 is also $54.90. I think that is a bit high.
Prices are in Australian dollars. You can view all the ticket prices at the Australian Open tennis website.
If you are more interested in attending the second week of the Australian Open the Day session tickets on Monday 25, January are $109.90, Tuesday and Wednesday $119.90, Thursday and Friday $179.90. The women’s final day will set you back $289.90 as will the men’s final which will take place on Sunday 31 January.
Just out of interest I performed a search for a ticket as I write. As at 12.35 pm on Monday, 12 October Australian time you can get a ticket in Section 7, Row N, Seat 331. This is in the lower part of Rod Laver Arena on the side of the court opposite the umpire chair.
If you did happen to like the sound of that seat hurry and try to book now. The only drawback with that seat is that it is in the sun and it does get very hot in Melbourne at the time of the Australian Open.
Having been to many Australian Opens I suggest buying a ground pass for some of the early days. I have been to finals and also have just used the ground passes. Obviously buying finals tickets you are paying big money, you also don’t know who you will see.
The first year I went to the Australian Open was in 1988. That was when the current tennis venue was first used. That year was awesome. All semis and finals went the distance. To make it even better Pat Cash was in the final. The next year was the complete opposite and Ivan Lendl hammered his opponent in the final. After that experience I changed my viewing choices and always would go to the opening four days using a ground pass.
With a ground pass ticket you only miss the action on Rod Laver and Hi-Sense arena but there is still plenty happening on the outside courts. If you get in early you can grab yourself a front row seat. You also never know who you will sit next to. One year I was sitting next to Jennifer Capriati’s mum as Jenn played doubles on a distant outside court.
Ground Pass tickets are just $29 for the fist week and go down to $19 in the second as obviously all the action is on the main courts. I am planning on taking my daughter in the first week.
