Alonso Stakes Claim for Formula One drivers championship

Fernando Alonso in his Formula One drivers championship Ferrari F1 racing carFernando Alonso has followed up his Formula One drivers championship Monza win with another victory at the wheel of his Ferrari, this time taking out the Singapore F1 grand prix. He is now in second place in the Formula One Drivers Championship 11 points behind Mark Webber.
Webber actually increased his lead after Lewis Hamilton again failed to finish a race. It was much the same incident as in Monza that saw him forced out of the race on lap 36. This time he was on the outside of a corner and his car came into contact with Webber’s Red Bull Racing car.

Sebastian Vettel pushed Alonso to the end and took out second position, he was only two-tenths of a second behind Alonso as the crossed the finish line. Webber was a further 29 seconds down the road as he took third, then came Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg, Rubens Barrichello, Robert Kubica, Felipe Massa, Adrian Sutil and Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top 10.

At the start of the race Vettel quickly moved away only to see Alonso shut the door as they went into the first corner. Webber also managed to not lose positions as he has done at recent races.

Early on we saw the first of the safety cars after Liuzzi parked his car out on the track. Red Bull gambled on an early pit stop which in the end paid off.
